For those of you that are interested, there's going to be a very full and
hopefully enlightening bardic track at the upcoming University.
* Lady Palfi Jozsa is teaching "Characterization and Purposeful Movement in
Performance". I've taken the class before and, regardless of the area of
bardic you're interested in, I would highly suggest this class. It's very
fun and helpful.
* Lord Bertran de Saint-Jean is teaching "Story Creation". While this class
does tend to lend itself primarily to storytelling, you can also utilize
elements for poetry, plays, and song-writing (especially ballads).
* Mistress Derbhiled ni Liadhnáin, our Royal Bard, is teaching two classes:
"Story Development" and "Bardic competitions: performing in them, judging
them, running them, sponsoring them". In other words, you can learn about
the signature area of expertise of a Kingdom Notable & Laurel firsthand.
Chances like this don't come around everyday...
* I'm teaching "Performing Poetry". While I do focus on the poetry aspects,
there are parts of the class that can be appealed to the other bardic arts
and even voice heraldry!
* We wrap up the day with a nice bardic circle of fun and frivolity!
I hope to see lots of our performers there! The weather should be hot, but
luckily we'll be inside :-) While it could be a bit of a drive for some of
our wonderful Kingdom, there have been many folks offering crash space. I
think it's going to be a very fun event!
