I hope everyone has had a chance to unpack, get a hot shower and rest before
rejoining the mundane world. I would like to thank all of you who came out to
help at Steppingstone this weekend. Expanding to a full weekend to hedge our
bets against the weather has paid off this year since we endured a chilly mist
Saturday but had surprising sunny skies Sunday to dry the canvas and bring out
the crowds. I have not gotten final numbers from the museum but I have heard we
had about 180 on Saturday and 360 on Sunday for about 540 paid adults that
probably brought at least half that many kids in for a total of about 750-800
which was down a bit from last year but considered the pending thunderstorms
Saturday we still had a decent turnout.

The public was very enthusiastic and enjoyed all of the learning opportunities,
watching the fighting, archery, ballista, viewing the arts and displays, asking
lots of questions, and shopping!
By having this as an official event we were able to offer authorizations and we
had some marshals in training getting experience in at this event. We also had
a great time camping and hanging out around the campfire, singing and talking
into the night. This is always a great laid-back event. Unfortunately the rain
slicked the ground too much for us to have horses, we’ll have to work on riding
water buffalo in the future.
I have many people to Thank on behalf of myself, the Barony of Bright Hills, and
the Steppingstone Museum for making this an excellent demo and excellent event…
everyone who signed in and that I can remember is listed below in no particular
order. If I have missed anyone or mussed up a name it is by no means
intentional and please let me know if you know of someone I missed.
THANK YOU ALL! HUGS ALL AROUND!

P.S. I did bring home a few lost and found items…
-wood cutting board and knife (I think this is Brianna’s ?)
-Plastic organizer tray with thread and buttons, sewing supplies and small cross
stitch kit
-metal fork and knife, matching
-wood folding chair (we think this is Eleri’s?)
-someone accidentally picked up one of my wood folding chairs which I’d like to
find since it goes with my patio set, I think it just has a sticker saying made
in Indonesia on the bottom, teak colored eucalyptus wood
-wood art box (we think this is Costanza’s- Ingeborg has it and will bring it to
fighter practice)
*please let me know if these are yours*
