Noble friends, Greetings.
This is a double treat, Vikings AND Scots in the same story! The BBC has
a short piece on aerial surveys being carried on the Scottish island of
Skye where a 12th century Viking shipyard has been discovered:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-13284989 . The
surveys will pinpoint possible dig sites for structures and artifacts.
The shipyard is close to, and possibly related to a Viking anchor which
was found on Skye not long ago:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-13284989 . The
anchor is being returned to the Isles for display after analysis by
archaeologists and historians: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10511789 .
Kind regards,
Lord Mungo Napier, That Crazy Scot
