Unfortunately, I must agree with that Knight to a point, especially in light of the fact that we stubbornly refuse to acknowledge the numerous real-life period examples of people getting knighted who had never suited up in armor or picked up a shield. There are other forms of martial combat, and masters of those forms were made members of the chivalry. Our society ignoring that is not only political, but childish and cliquish, and to be honest has caused me to lose a fair amount of respect for the chivalry as a whole and most of its members. 

Sorry for my ranting, but I thought it pertinent to your question.
