As it happens, WoW VI is trying out just this concept.  I don't happen to
recall the budget numbers, but there is a line item in the budget this year
for volunteer payback and that amount will be split between the groups which
have volunteers checked in at volunteer point.

Plan on attending this year, and volunteer!  Your hours will contribute
directly to whatever local group you sign in as representing.
