Your grace, I doubt that anyone was questioning TRM's intent. The
problem in these cases, as has been seen in other situations of rules in
this Society.
Is that once TRM step down, any future Crown could look at the laws, not
see a Grandfather clause, and declare that all coronets must meet it, as
that is what the law states.
Granted, this is perhaps a minor point, as any future Crown could also
just pass a law removing any Grandfather clause. But the point would be
that said separate law would have to be presented & passed. Versus
defacto happening because that's how the law was written.
Many 'interesting' situations have happened in the Rattan rules, over
the years, because of this. Laws written one way, where everyone
'understood' what was meant. But then years later, fresh eyes look at
it, and it looks completely different.
