Greetings to the noble populace of the Barony of Windmasters' Hill!
As was announced at the last few Baronial meetings, we will be choosing
new Champions at the Grand Tournoi d'Amitie. We ask that those who are
interested in representing Us and Our Barony please make their
intentions known when they arrive at the event - there will be a sign-in
sheet provided at the Gate.
Our Whim is to choose our Champions as follows:
Heavy and Rapier: Baron Girard will be fighting all comers in both
disciplines, as will the current Champions. Our champions will be
those who best exhibit both Prowess and Chivalry through these
fights and throughout the day, and who we feel will best represent
the Barony.
Static Arts and Sciences: There will be an open display for all of
those wishing to serve as Arts and Sciences Champion - no particular
format nor theme of entry is required, though I will look kindly on
works of art which glorify the Barony or Kingdom, and on those
Artists who are versed in more than one discipline.
Performing Arts: Mistress Dervila has kindly agreed to allow me to
choose my Champion in conjunction with the Bardic Circle she will be
holding at the event. The format of this circle is a single round of
performances, again with no particular theme required, although
documentation will score points with both Mistress Dervila and
myself. For those wishing to be Champion, there will be a bonus
round, in which you will be asked to sing your best "Windmasters'
Goes To War" song.
Brewing Arts: Our current Champion, Lord Stephan, will be organizing
a Brewer's Round Table - brewers are invited to bring samples of
their best works, be they beer, mead, wine, liquor or other, and the
assembled brewers will discuss their merits and flaws and assist
Girard and I in choosing a Champion (as I cannot imbibe more than a
taste or two at the moment.) Documentation is, again, encouraged but
not required.
Equestrian: We will not be choosing a new Champion at this time, as
Lord Fillipo has not served the lengthy term of the other Champions.
Times for each of these competitions will be on the schedule released by
the autocrat.
Some may ask whether we require entrants to enter more than one category
as has been requested by some of our predecessors - we instead choose to
open the field to as many as possible in order to ensure that the Barony
is represented by our best in any given area.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email or call.
Yours in Service to Barony and Kingdom,
Baronne Guenièvre
Baronne of Windmasters' Hill
