They'd be wise, judging by the comments so far, to set up some sort of
donation page.
I reckon they'd get a goodly amount of $$

It's a shame if it really is limited to 10-20 people; I completely
understand the need from a preservation perspective of limiting the number
of people touching these delicate artifacts, but I bet the SCA could get
enough people willing/able to pay to see the items to perhaps afford some of
the preservation that's outside their budget after all.

I too will likely donate even if I can't get a tour spot (or if it's a date
I can't go). I've passed the information on to my Barony.
