With the announcement of best use of a gem at Sapphire Joust this year...

Where can you get a Gem stone,

Coronation this weekend we will be having a silent auction of Gem stones.
Starting bids are as low as $1 and as High as $5. There are 80 lots of
stones that will be up for auction. Stones include rose quartz, jade,
turquoise, bloodstone, tourmaline and much more. The stones where give to
the SCA by Mistress Moira Maureen ua Seamus of the Green Hills. (mka Sherna
Comerford). This silent auction will be for the kingdom travel fund.

Since this was a large gift of stone there will also be another auction held
at Sapphire as well.
