Greetings!

I am the Chatelaine for the Barony of Windmasters' Hill, and I am seeking
assistance with an upcoming demo request. The request is as follows:

"I would like to see if anyone from the Kingdom of Atlantia would be interested
in putting

on a small fair/event for my child’s school on April 29, 2010. The school is
approx 20 min

north of Roxboro , NC and is a small charter school. They are currently doing a
section on

the medieval era and are scheduled to have a fair at the conclusion and having
had family

members that use to belong to the SCA I thought the children would really enjoy
an authentic
medieval event."

I would like to try to accommodate this request for a couple of reasons:

1. It is a large part of who we are - a non-profit, educational organization.
2. We need to continuously reach out to our youth to gain new interest and keep
the Dream alive.
3. It is in an area that is part of our Barony, but is quite far from any
active group. I have received more than one request

from newcomers in that area who want to get involved but it is too far for them
to participate in a regular weekly group.

This could be a "dual-purpose" demo to also get the word out in that area and
possibly see if there are others there who

could help get an active group going.

SO - I have coordinated a demo at a library before where we did the following
and I'd like to try to do this for these folks:

1. A fighting area where we would have some heavy fighters (in full
armor) and also our rapier fighters (like sword fighting) to fight and
also talk about their armor and chivalry in the time period.
2. An artisan area where folks would be working on/demonstrating their
crafts such as spinning, lace-making, calligraphy and illumination, etc.
Some of these could also have supplies so the kids can do some of their
own crafts.
3. We had a blacksmith and if he had his forge set up in a safe area.
4. We also had a music/dance area where our musicians/singers performed and
taught a song from the period AND demonstrated and taught some dance.
5. We had a station to talk about heraldry and let the kids draw and
color shields with their own devices.

They put the kids in groups and they rotated through the different areas.

SO - I know this is on a Friday, but is there ANYONE who would be able to commit
to be a part of this demo? We would set up at 8:00 am and be done by 12:45.
Although this would be in our Barony, I would LOVE to have others who might not
be too far away who could come and help as well. If you think you can help me,
PLEASE let me know ASAP so I can let the school know. Thanks so much for your
consideration!
