Greetings from the autocrat of Warfighter!
I wish to send a heartfelt thank you to each person that helped make Warfighter
happen. As a first time autocrat, I could not of made the event run smoothly
without the help of so many from our Canton, our Barony and those from afar.
Thank you to Sir TJ and his kitchen staff for making a delicious meaty-o-sarus
meal for our hot & sweaty fighters. They were seen working hard in the kitchen
and over a hot barbecue all day.
Thank you to Countess Honor for the beautiful and delicious spread laid out
for the Queen's reception. I'm pretty sure the fighters were thankful too, as
they fell upon the food like a swarm of locust once the fighting had stopped.
They were ravenous and it was the perfect pre-dinner appetizer!
Thank you to Baroness Magda who had the job of running our arts & science area.
She planned a creative competition and headed up a wonderful group
of instructors to teach classes all day long. Her talent for organizing and
coordinating is only super-ceded by her talent at her many arts. I am grateful
for the teachers; Baroness Linnet, Lady Kadlin, Lady Bianca and lady Cassandra
for their dedication to sharing their knowledge. Thank you to Lord Alderet for
working on book binding all day so that people could see how it's done.
Thank you to our head MIC, Earl John, though he was suffering from back pain,
was still able to set me up with a wonderful crew to manage the fighting. Our
own Baron Augustin was heavy marshal, Lord Etienne served as the rapier marshal
and Lord Gregor was the combat archery marshal. Thank you gentlemen for your
hard work on such a hot day to make sure the fighters could have fun and train
for Pennsic. A big thank you to Lady Kamen who was our archery marshal who,
like at Sapphire, ran a fabulous kid's shoot in the morning and an adult shoot
in the afternoon.
Baroness Bojzena was our MOL and with the help of our Kingdom MOL, Mistress
Ceridwen, was instrumental in processing fighter cards and making
the paperwork-side of fighting run smoothly. Thank you Ladies! Mistress
Blitha changed her plans last minute and came down to Warfighter to serve as our
chirurgeon and with the help of her 2 CIT's (Suevae and Sam) and some others
volunteers, they were able to keep the fighters and staff hydrated. We would
have been dropping like flies without Blitha and her crew's help! Thank you!
Though we had few children attend, we were well prepared with hands-on
activities run by our Barony's chancellor of youth, Lady Emelyn with help from
Baron Kendrick, who was available to teach kids and adults about decorating with
heraldry and how to play period games. Lady Elizabeth prepared Page's Academy
baldrics for any youth that wished to volunteer with service activities. Her
granddaughter, Petite Marie, served all day in the kitchen and as a
water-bearer. Her many selfless deeds did not go un-noticed!
Thank you to Lady Martine for serving as my head troll and for the service of
Baroness Bojzena, Lord Broccan, Lord Nathaniel and all those who volunteered to
help at troll.
A big thank you to Lady Bianca who had the distinguished job of "Princess
Privy"! Thanks to her the restrooms where kept clean and well stocked!
A huge thanks goes out to my set-up & breakdown crews; Lord Broccan, Mistress
Melisent, Sir Bryce, Lord Nathaniel, Lady Bianca, Baron William, Sir TJ, Lord
Hjorr and Lady Kadlin. A few of Their Majesty's retainers arrived early on Fri
and helped me decorate the Royal Pavilion. To Lady-Lady and her husband, Jared
the Potter, a big thank you! And to those many gentles who stepped up to help
raise, move and drop tents, you have my gratitude!
Sincere thanks to my peer, Countess Honor, who kept reminding me that a good
autocrat should have time to sit, relax and have fun at their own party. I found
myself sitting under my day shade off and on throughout the
day, resting, re-hydrating, enjoying good company and having fun! Hey Honor, I
must of done something right!
Special thanks to Mistress Melisent, who was still exhausted from autocrating
Sapphire Joust, yet still found time to offer her support. She became my rudder
in the storm. Her words of guidance and wisdom meant so much! Thank you!
Loving thanks goes out to my husband, Brother Amos, though he could not attend
the event, he helped me every step of the way with planning and preparations.
A very grateful autocrat,
Ysabella Cacemoine
