but irresistible i can go with.i mean if you cant laugh and have fun there,your either dead drunk,or just dead.

I am utterly convinced the Chalkman is a "soft place." It exists out of time. I have never been so utterly transported to another time and place by music and fellowship as I have at Chalkman.  The energy is an irresistible force. 

It was in the Chalkman that Ivar once uttered to me the hilarious, but profoundly true, comment "I am in church." 

They don't do a ton of SCA period songs, usually. They're period for Chalkman, and you'll get more out of that, anyways.
