<<< I've had several people come to me and ask for songs to sing at
bardic circles. Well, I'm twice useless there - I'm a mainly a
storyteller and I have neither words nor music to the songs I *do*
know. So, I'm looking for a set of these learning tapes and/or new,
up-to-date learning tapes. Can anyone help me out here? >>>
There are probably a lot better sites out there, but these is some
material in the PERFORMANCE ARTS section of the Florilegium. I'm
generally restricted in either getting a bunch of material off of
email lists or having to present it in a useable form and music scores
don't do well on the Internet.
That section is here: http://www.florilegium.org/files/PERFORMANCE-ARTS/idxperformance.html
And some of the music source files are:
SI-songbook1-art (86K) 5/29/96 A Collection of Scottish and Irish songs,
SI-songbook2-art (72K) 9/17/00 compiled by Ioseph of Locksley.
SI-songbook3-art (77K) 5/29/96 (part 3 of 4)
SI-songbook4-art (86K) 5/29/96 (part 4 of 4)
singing-msg (23K) 7/ 6/00 Judging whether a song is period in style.
song-sources-msg (46K) 9/26/04 Sources for medieval songs. Book reviews
songs-msg (48K) 10/13/93 SCA and medieval songs.
songs2-msg (94K) 4/14/07 More songs.
For those looking for some story sources, see this file:
Hornbook-art (144K) 10/31/96 Mikal the Ram's book of stories.

I'm always looking for more material. I know that there were once some
wonderful books of "SCA" songs but several of these got pulled because
of copyright problems. :-(
