Briana replied to me with:

second Panther,
and we're totally satisfied. We asked for a roof vent, and they added
it per
our design. >>>

Thank you to both you and the others who have answered my question. I
was aware of the principle. My own pavilion is constructed this way.
In fact the tent ended up being larger than originally expected,
because it was pieced together on the seams and the fabric was wider
than originally planned on. I had just never heard this term before. I
thought that all tents were made this way, since it is much stronger.
And yes, that is why my pavilion has 12 poles plus a center pole. 4
poles on each side.

Your second pavilion? Did you sell the first? Why do you need two?
What is different between the first and the second? ie: Is there
anything with your first pavilion that you changed on the second one?
Why a roof vent? I've seen those on modern military tents to allow a
hot stovepipe to extend through the root.

<<< Walk next door and look at it if you want to see what the
difference is. >>>

Huh? I don't see any other pavilions in my neighborhood and as far as
I know, I'm the only one in my neighborhood with a pavilion. :-) Now
at an SCA event, that's a bit different.
