I would also recommend bringing at least one extra set of clothing. Later in the
day when you feel that your brain is fried and your body half-baked, you can get
a cool shower in the farmhouse and regain your energy to spend a bit more time
with friends when the sun sets and the air cools to pleasant temperatures. It is
amazing what a difference that can make....but you'll want clean, dry clothes to
change into.

Greetings to the lists,
Drums of War is right around the corner and lots of fun activities are planned.
Here is a list of things you may want to bring to take advantage of all the
opportunities offered....

pre-registered.

2. Bring your best heraldic banner that displays your baronial, canton,
household or personal device to enter in the Heraldic Banner Competition. There
will be a prize and our own Coronets will be judging. See our website for
rules. .http://sites.google.com/site/drumsofwar2011/home

3. Bring your musical instrument, poems, songs and stories for the Performer's
Revel on Friday night. We may play Pick, Play or Pass.

4. Bring a non-perishable food item or $1.00 as your entrance fee to the party

and music and the good company of friends and we will be helping the local

5. Fighters - Bring your spiffiest, and most fierce armor / garb and enter the

7, Artisans - Bring your talents and spend time learning new skills. We have
many A&S classes being offered through out the day. Archery classes, youth
classes and Marshalling classes are being offered as well.

8. Brewers - Bring your mead, ale, wine or cordial and enter it into the
Brewing Competition. The Baronial Brewing Champion will be selected from these
entries.

And if you are competiting for the Baronial Heavy, Youth Heavy, Equestrian or
Rapier
Champion, don't forget to bring your A&S entry to their Excellencies' tent for
them to see and plan time for them to talk with you.

And... all of this is in addition to fighting, fighting, fighting, rapier
activities and archery and thrown weapons, and equestrian activiites, and a
Siege Demo and merchants and a Newcomer's Reception and class and activities for
the little ones too.

See why you won't want to miss it? And all just for $12 for the whole weekend
if you are a member, $17 if you are not. What a deal. June 17-19, Castle
Elchenburg, Elkin, NC. Gate opens at 2:00 pm on Friday.

See you there,
