Saint Sebastian Prize Shoot

Holy fletching, your Majesty! There are Dragons and Frost Giants on the
archery range! Look! Over there is a seven headed hydra! Perils to our
kingdom! Should I grab bow and arrow to defend our kingdom honor?

Yes, folks, the archers of Atlantia with assistance from all the kingdoms of
the known world bring you the first Pennsic Saint Sebastian Prize Shoot,
Sunday, August 7 with the range open from 9 am until 3 pm. This shoot is
named after the recognized patron saint of archers, Saint Sebastian.

The shoot will consist of 13 shooting stations to test an archer's skill
with a variety of targets. Some targets will be moving, some stationary,
and some requiring a high skill of accuracy. The shoot is open to all
archers, experienced or new to the activity. Archers will shoot the course
at their own pace and be organized in groups of 4 to 6 archers. Archers
will score themselves throughout the course and there will be marshals
available for assistance as needed. All score cards must be turned in by 3
pm for tally.

There will be three divisions/classes of archers based on self identified
Royal Round averages of 0 - 20, 40 - 60, or 80 and up. If you do not
currently know your Royal Round average or do not have one consider 0 - 20
as a novice archer, 40 - 60 as intermediate and 80 or higher as expert.
Prizes will be awarded to the top archers in each division with a perpetual
award of the St. Sebastian Reliquary for the top archer. The awards will be
announced and awarded at 4 pm.

As with all SCA target archery your equipment must meet SCA target archery
requirements. No compound bows, arrows must be wooden shafts with feather
fletching and points that will not destroy the targets, i.e. no broad heads.
Hand bows or crossbows are allowed.

So grab your gear and come to the archery range for a totally new and
different experience on the archery range at war!
