  Please allow me to clear up what some of you see as "an attack " on TRM.
Being critical of a policy is not an attack apon a person. I myself have never been offended by TRM's in any way. However when you make your top priority as the leader of the kingdom the rules regarding coronets it creates the perception that that is the thing you are most concerned about.
my comment about that particular issue would probably have best been left out of my original post,but i was using that to illustrate how newcomers perceive the SCA. I have had many people make comments along those lines.
The intent of my post is to give food for thought on what we can improve apon, and how we appear to those just joining our ranks. No one should feel insulted by a critic of the society as a whole. The rancor generated by 
looking at our flaws and trying to work on them is exactly why many new people just leave the SCA or join other group, because that is easier for them to do than to with stand the backlash from taking a critical view.
Anyone who knows me knows that I will in fact discuss with anyone the same things that I post here face to face. This will be my last post on this issue. To those who are offended my apologies and to those who wish to make it about themselves or any one person please believe me when I tell you that these issues are society wide and are in no way the "fault" of any one person or group of people. But if we can not find room for improvement then we are truly looking or trying.
