Noble friends,

Perhaps you are a bit tired of the debate over the census. If so 
consider this:

On this day in 1054, Siward, Earl of Northumbria, led an invasion of 
Scotland and defeated Macbeth, King of Scotland (actually I think he was 
"King of the Scots", a slightly different concept), in a battle north of 
the Firth of Forth.

That said, you can read about the real Macbeth (who was actually a 
pretty good king, even if he did have quite a bit of blood on his hands;
