My first garb was a round table cloth that I folded in half cut out the neck hole and cut 2 swoops out of the sides that I then sewed into sleeves.  I kept that around for years to serve as a inspiration for further garb.  That and a pair of sweat pants a belt and my cowboy boots and I looked OK for my first event.  My son wore a long sleeve stripes hooded pull over shirt, sweat pants and boots.  That was Estrella 22 years ago.  I had been to 3 others as a visitor and even in mundanes(didn't know any better) was well received and shown great hospitality.  That is what made me want to come back.  We are supposed to be here to share time with friends first and foremost.  I think we sometimes forget that.  When we start looking to awards as  our motive for being here, weve lost some of the soul of what makes us great.
