to my knowledge, although it can be done, no large city has filtered drugs out of the water. My county, Stanly, in NC regularly sends us alerts on how our water has failed EPA standards, so we filter all of our drinking and cooking water, even for the cats. also, if you are going through or have gone through chemo, you are much more susceptible to salmonella poisoning. I got it this spring in Charleston, but my sister did not and we ate the same thing. I not only ended up in the hospital, but got a lower GI bleed two weeks later and it took 6 weeks to clear up with antibiotics and then massive probiotics.  in fact , taking some probiotics wouldn't hurt.  It might get your gut ready for bugs you're not used to.
