Hiya,
 
I've seen this before and it is quite something. In period they could put up a structure like this in a year or so.
 
What keeps me interested?
 
I've been mostly active for nearly 32 years and although fighting was a major component, I've always had other interests. As a Pearl I'm often asked to judge competitions so I have gotten my feet wet in nearly every A&S category I came in contact with. Nothing grinds an artisan worse than being judged by someone who has no knowledge. That makes about 24 or so skill sets coming out of my activities.
 
My main focus these days is painting and calligraphy. I'm on a quest to help beautify our Knowne Worlde . As I was recently made the first Court Painter to the Barony of Storvik, I'm trying to push the painting arts and getting my fellow subjects to give it a try.
 
I've also recently taken up archery target painting - a never ending task. Did you know they shoot these things up?!
 
I'll stop boring everybody, now.

activity like this keeps me interested in all thing Medieval.    Ok,
so let me ask you, what keeps you interested in stuff like this?  I
know many would say the fighting, hey look at our kingdom, go figure!
:)    Beyond legally smacking a Brother's ass with a stick, what keeps
you in the SCA?
