[MR] SCA census...fourth peerage

the idea of a fourth (sic) peerage crops up from time to time. to most it would be a fifth peerage since royal title is considered a peerage and, hence, already a fourth peerage.
nothing was posted because there really is so little support for creating an additional peerage for activities that are already covered by the three, non-royal, peerages. there never has been support for watering the peerages down to every little interest but every five years or so a few folks start rattling their sabers that we go through it again. there is much less support now than there was 15 years ago. im sure it will crop up again in five years or so but i doubt there will be any more support for the notion.
will the board ever come out and state that there is so little support? who knows. historically when noise is raised (i dont mean that to be insulting) about a new idea its usually raised by a tiny amount of folks who raise a lot of rabble about their crusade. typically they claim folks have been ignored/oppressed/insulted by the clear lack of this new idea. its usually the whole phenomenon of championing those that cant speak for themselves. like the whole spotted owls are being oppressed and cant live anywhere but these 20 trees only to find them living, and breeding, in the wal-mart sign a quarter mile away. a year later their numbers were four times what they were for the past 15 years and those few trees are gone.
there is no reason or need for a fourth/fifth peerage. there are options for peerage level recognition for any persons any activity. creating more of something special serves no purpose.

Subject: [MR] SCA census...fourth peerage
Since this is my first time posting to this list I will make it short. I am a avid member of the marshal communities as I fight both heavy and rapier I also ride for the Atlantian Cav. When I completed the census I was very excited about the SCA bouncing around the thought of the fourth peerage but when the results came out I was disappointed I did not see anything on that subject. I downloaded all the links and checked the several times maybe I just missed the result for that particular subject. Can anyone lead me in the right direction.

Subject: [MR] A Note From Her Majesty Larissa, Queen of Trimaris
To: <atlantia at seahorse.atlantia.sca.org>
"Atlantia has been dear friends and allies to Trimaris and to Duncan and myself over many years. I am heartbroken to have to ever post such a missive to such a fair and gracious Kingdom."
Your Majesty,
Please do not trouble yourself over this nonsense. We have our own few "instigators" on this list and are thus accustomed to the occassional troll.
We consider the source - and anyone who publicly takes cheap shots at the Crown in such a distasteful manner is not considered credible. They are disregarded out of hand.
I am sorry you were brought into this and that it affected you. Its nonsense.
Please do not waste another thought on it.
Keep the wind in your sails! Pennsic approaches.
Cheers
Fen
