It is quite common in England to refer to the early 16th C as 'late medieval' with 'early modern' beginning with the break from Rome.

Here's a brief BBC story and video clip about a mural of Henry VIII found during renovations of a house in Somerset. The BBC needs to do some work with a timeline, since Henry VIII was very a very Renaissance prince, not medieval. Editorial gaffs aside, the mural is treasure to be sure.
