Another important difference, of course, is that Henry II and all those other competitors started physical training in their youth. I doubt this poor fellow could have said the same.

The interesting thing with Henri II is that it wasn't the spike in the
brain that killed him. The impact caused a "counter-coup" concussion,
on the back side of his head opposite the eye. He died from swelling
due to the resulting hematoma.
