Unto Their Atlantian Majesties, Bryan and Brianna; to the Heralds of Atlantia; to the Populace of Atlantia: and to all others who should read these presents:

Greetings from Evan da Collaureo, Sackbut Herald.

On the Twelfth day of February, in the Forty-Fifth year of the Society (or 2011 by the Common Reckoning), a festival was held in the Barony of Bright Hills to celebrate the seventeenth anniversary of the elevation of that branch to the rank and status of a Barony, and also to celebrate the end of the term of the outgoing Baroness and the accession of her successors as the Sixth Baronage of Bright Hills. It is my honor to report the proceedings of the Royal Court of Their Majesties, Bryan of Sacred Stone and Brianna O Duinn, in the various Morning and Afternoon sessions of that Court. (The Evening Court will be reported separately.)

Their Majesties processed into the hall in late morning. Once all were settled, Her Excellency Martelle was invited to hold her Last Baronial Court (which shall also be reported separately, along with the other baronial courts held on that day). Upon the closure of baronial court, Her Excellency gave the baronial regalia into the keeping of the baronial seneschale under Their Majesties' watchful eye, and stepped down from the Landed Baronage.

Before she could depart the court, however, Mistress Martelle von Charlottenburg was requested to approach the Royal Thrones. In recognition of the diligence and care displayed during her tenure as Landed Baroness, Their Majesties created her a Baroness of the Court.

Upon Martelle's departure, His Majesty noted that a Barony was incomplete without crowned leadership. He asked the Seneschale if the populace had recommended anyone for the position. Lady Katarzyna indicated that this was indeed the case; Master Chirhart Blackstar and Mistress Jeanne Tenneur de Bec were named for royal consideration. The wishes of the people being in accord with the wishes of Their Majesties, those two gentles were called into the Royal Presence, and asked if they were willing to undertake the duties of such position. Chirhart and Jeanne answered in the affirmative, and proceeded to swear fealty to the Crown as Baron and Baroness of Bright Hills. They were crowned, and invited to take their places on the Baronial thrones.

Talorgen hersir was summoned forth to announce a fundraiser for the Kingdom Travel Fund, to take place during the day of the event.

Their Majesties then summoned Bellavene Scolari and William Scolari before Them. These gentles have performed many and varied acts of service, including event setup and teardown, and teaching; they are also involved in divers activities of arts, sciences, and combat. Therefore did Their Majesties Award the each of them Arms.

It was then the pleasure of Their Majesties to command the presence of Lady Livia di Samuele, whose Sekanjabin Tavern has been a very popular gathering spot at many events over the past few years. For this, and for her accomplishments in both sekanjabin and in brewing, Their Majesties did induct her into the Order of the Coral Branch.

A short Baronial Court was then held. At the close of baronial court, Royal Court was adjourned.

During the afternoon hours, there were smaller, less formal courts held. At the first of these, Lady Nem inghean Dochartaigh was called into the Royal Presence, and inducted into the Order of the Opal.

This was followed by a familiar face, as the presence of Baroness Martelle was requested. This time it was to celebrate her achievements on the archery range, as she was inducted into the Order of the Kings Missiliers.

Lord Fulk the Bald was then commanded to stand forth, in front of his A&S display of armor. For his research into armoring techniques and his skill at demonstrating those techniques, Lord Fulk was made a Companion of the Coral Branch.

Another new member of the Coral Branch was next to be called, as Lady Patricia of Trakai was so honored for her ongoing research and teaching of divers Lithuanian Studies.

Slightly later, another small court was held, in which Baroness Meleri ferch Iasper ap Dafydd was inducted into the Order of the Opal for her many years of dedicaton and service.

Thus completes my account of the morning and afternoon royal courts held in Bright Hills on the 12th day of February, AS XLV (CE 2011). This information is complete and correct to the best of my knowledge. I am grateful to Lady Alexandria Wright, who served as lead herald for the afternoon courts; she also stood as second to myself in morning court, and supplied much useful information for this report. I am also grateful to Talorgen Hersir for supplying a great deal of information and assembling the initial court dockets. With thanks to these and to all who assisted in any manner with these royal courts, I remain Yours in service,

Evan, Sackbut.

Vivat Atlantia!
