[MR] A&S issue

[Nina Amaya]

Hi all- I have entered a bunch of competitions, and had the same
experiences. I think we have to know going in, that we are Not Likely to be
Judged by an Expert, and only enter if the outcome won't ruin our day. We
MIGHT get some really good pointers. We MIGHT win (even if there were
better entries- we know when we have lost to worse ones, right?).
And we might have to laugh off some really ignorant comments, or go mutter
to our friends about it.

Yes, judges should sign their names! Yes, it would be great if people
didn't youtube us and leave mean comments.

I guess I don't have any new suggestions, but just wanted to chime in and
commiserate. It can be an exercise in self control and personal boundaries
to enter competitions. When I judge, I do try to comment in a way of :
'This' is good:______. 'This' would be even better if:_________. Consider
trying :_________.
