  Possibly the hollow walnut. Anyhow, it came down on the turn-around 
of our driveway. No damage to our trees or the house. I think I'll be 
able to back the car out tomorrow.

Anyhow, that was exciting. There was a strong gust of wind, but 
nothing extraordinary (if hurricane force gusts are ordinary--as they 
tend to be during our thunderstorms). It's getting close to 2, and 
the winds are supposed to die down a bit, but the ground is 
saturated, so it may (I haven't seen) be pulled up by the roots. It 
fell in a south-westerly direction, but that could be the weight 
distribution more than the wind direction.
