Greetings to the Tavern and the several lists who do receive this missive from Gisela, land steward for War of the Wings. Please pass this information on to all who will welcome it.

PRE-REG & LAND

There were conflicting ACCEPS pre-registration deadlines on the Web page that we only just realized ... the actual real deadline for pre-registering for War of the Wings via ACCEPS is Sept 18.

Pre-registration via land mail or other means to get the money in my hands (I like money. It's good. Send me more! =o) is Sept 25.

The only way to have land reserved for camping space is to be pre-registered. Those who are not pre-registered must rely on the generosity of their friends or use open camping space.

FIELD SPACE FOR DAYSHADES

Any one wishing space on either the Heavy List Field or the Rapier List Field for dayshades, please contact me (Gisela vom Kreuzbach) at Gisela DOT vomKreuzbach AT Gmail DOT com with the following information:

1) Group name

 2) Dayshade type
3) Dayshade Size WITH ROPES

FIREWOOD

Many of you will remember from last year that an SCA couple from the Canton of Charlesbury Crossing sold bundles of firewood on site. They are returning this year. The information about what they'll have is listed below. If you have any questions or if you want to pre-order firewood for your encampment, please contact Tonya directly at tzchaika AT bellsouth DOT net

They will have two different types of bundles this year:

Traditional camp fire wood (split logs pine / poplar mix) for $5 per bundle. People may remember these from last year.

This year they also have kiln-dried hard wood pieces (from second cuttings when the local mill squares their lumber after drying) for $10 per bundle.

All bundles will be approximately 60-65(ish) inches in circumference, 20” diameter. All wood (split or hard wood) runs between 18” to 24” long, probably averaging about 20 to 22-ish”. (Payment not accepted until pick-up.)

Either type of bundle will burn for a nice warm fire in the evenings- the camp fire wood we have was split either late last winter or early this spring and has seasoned all summer long. The logs are nice for the traditional camp fire. The kiln dried pieces are can be used for cooking with since they smoke less and burn hotter than the pine/ mixed softwood- and no worries about sap.

Again, if you have questions regarding the firewood or if you want to pre-order it, contact Tonya directly at tzchaika AT bellsouth DOT net and please put “WoW Firewood” in the subject line so she knows it isn’t spam.

Thank you, all. See you in a SHORT Six and a half weeks.
