[MR] What excited you at Pennsic?

Classes?
Battles?
Doing service?
Registering a name/badge/device?
The Arts & Sciences daily exhibit? (I didn't get to take part in any of
that, nor even see it, and would love to hear about it.)
The hang-gliders above the camp?
The unusually cool weather on the second week?

I worked at the Watch, where I got to meet new co-workers, some of whom I
now consider friends, if only friends that I will see once a year. But it
was fun to be a part of the service-cog, and to watch our Mobility
Assistance drivers scurry around trying to do two things at once (follow the
bus route and yet still go to pick up a call off of the route, thanks to a
last-minute change in policy they were *really* busy folks!) I saw what
could have been emotionally draining incidents get handled with respect and
understanding, and people able to reconcile their differences with dignity.
That brought me joy.

I got to see the sun rise above the morning fog and a whole town wake up.
And hear it, too, if one counts the soft banging of porta-potty doors. :)

I only spent a short while at Herald's Point - my Gawd, are they busy there.
Busy. I mean like, "crazy, the Stock Market is about to fall" busy. Wow. I
think I heard that the final total of submissions worked on was something
like 570-ish. Can you imagine? All that research, cross-checking, and
artistry? I cannot imagine how they got it all done. And everyone's
badge/device submission was coloured in for them, too, by volunteers. There
were a lot of dead soldi-um-crayolas in that tent.

So. We just had the largest SCA event of the year - did you have fun? What
did you do that you'd like to get other folks enthusiastic about?
