Good Morning,

As we have attended events over our time in the SCA, many of us have gained
collections of pewter tokens. Some of us collect them as reminders of that
day or examples of the casting arts, and some, well... for lack of a better
phrase, stick them in a pickle jar and forget them.

The cost of Pewter has gone up drastically over the last couple of years,
and as such the cost involved in both making tokens for events, as well as
encouraging the next generation of casters to get started. has been
increasing. This being the case, I would ask all of us to take a moment
and look at your various SCA treasure boxes and examine your collections (or
piles) of tokens. If a token holds a special meaning to you, hold onto it!
Cherish it! Add it to your Garb!

However, if you come across ones that you feel may simply just taking up
space, please consider gathering them up and seeking out your local pewter
caster, especially the ones that are just starting out, to recycle them into
future tokens. By offering them up for recycling, you may help someone
discover a new talent or insight on a new technique, or even help your local
group save a few dollars on their next event by reducing costs.

Thank you all very much for your time.

Yours in Service,

Christopher MacConing
