Noble friends,

Lonely now that everyone else has gone to Pennsic? Consider the heat
they must endure! As you sit comfortably in your nice air-conditioned
manor house, enjoy this web site:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mermaid_Inn .

The Mermaid Inn in Rye, England, dates from about 1420, though the
cellars go back to the 12th century. Much of the original building
survives, though there are major 16th and 18th century additions. Too
bad the secret passages have all been removed, and the same for the
smugglers' tunnel to the nearby Bell Inn (1390).

If you would like to see what the Mermaid Inn looks like today, try
http://www.mermaidinn.com/ .

Stay cool. Pennsic isn't everything, you know.

Kind regards,

Lord Mungo Napier, That Crazy Scot
