Since Kari brought up the Hastings Trivia.... Here are a few pics from the trip Kari and I made to Hastings a few years ago...
Here is the leaning wall holding up the Pub over our heads....

Here is the covered over entrance to the secret tunnel..... the tunnel entrance was blocked and this wine rack was put in there. You can make out the old hinges for the door than had been there on the left side of the door frame in the brown trim boards.

and a bonus....a View from the hill top where Harold held. The slope doesn't look that steep but it is tiring to climb that long slow hill back up... and in armor....

Subject: [MR] Fun Fact
"The famous Battle of Hastings did not take place in Hastings! It was actually waged at Senlac Hill - which is about 6 miles (10km) north-west of Hastings. "The battle at Senlac Hill" certainly doesn't have the same ring to it as "The Battle of Hastings"!"
There is a pub near the battlefield where one of the wall has a SERIOUS lean. It is propped up by a 2 x 4. And there was a secret tunnel where so the monks from the abbey could get to the pub.
(I just felt the need of a new topic)
:)
