[MR] Merry Rose Cesspit

Noble friends,

I was saddened by the number of people who left the Merry Rose after the 
recent spate of inflammatory posts, or posts that were seen as 
inflammatory. I have taken a personal vow not to engage in any debates 
on the group, to take any disagreements over to personal email, and to 
only originate posts that I feel will be of use or interest to others 
(in my case book reviews and links to historical web sites/articles).

I invite all of you to share in this vow in the interest of a better, 
more useful Merry Rose where everyone can feel welcome.

I will have nothing more to say on this topic in the interest of band 
width, and urge anyone else who feels this way not to post a public 
response.
