helping folks prepare and plan for the hurricane. And exchange information.
You originally had some great tips and hints. Can you keep to that theme?or in
the words of the great and wise . Thumper " it you can't say somethin nice,
don't say nothin at all!." Your political views can wait. Im sure they will
not be altered or weakened by a few days of state of emergency precious.

Furthermore, the weather forcasts do get more accurate as time progresses. The
1905 Hurricane in Galveston, and the 1938 hurricane in NY-NE were missed
entirely until they hit land. Indeed, I have a Naval Institute Press book by
the chief meteorologist of the US Navy. Dates to the 1960. And says NOTHING
about how high level steering currents (winds) affect hurricanes. If you note,
the claimed error of the current set of forecasts for about 2-3 days is about
50-100 miles--Will the eye hug the coast offshore or onshore? Remember When
Andrew was aimed at Miami and they weren't sure where it would hit, even a few
hours in advance.

But some people like to take digs at government workers. Right now, though, it
looks as if NOAA is being less alarmist and hysterical than Accuweather, and
the regular broadcasters and news outlets,.... well, I won't bring that up: my
blood pressure is high enough already.
