Easter is past and tourney season heats up with the weather, just two weeks to
one of the first fighting and arts events of the Spring!

The event flier is below but I have a few reminders to point out: If you need
demo space and tables or chairs please let me know as soon as possible. If you
plan to arrive before 5pm on Friday I need to know to make arrangements for you.
Please note that you can leave modern tents set up, just not in the demo area.
I have ammended the wording in the announcement to make this more clear. Since
spring has graced us early this year we are hoping for another beautiful weekend
with record turnout as we had last year. Saturday will feature the Baronial
Championship tourneys for Heavy Weapons and Equestrian, Sunday will feature
Rapier and Archery demos. Our archery marshal needs more marshals to volunteer
to help kids try shooting on Sunday afternoon between 1-4pm so if you are coming
and are a marshal and can help, please let me know. We want the kids to be able
to try shooting, this has been a wildly popular demo feature the last few
years! If you are a bard, the public and your fellow scadians enjoy
entertainment throughout the day and especially around the campfire, Friday is
quiet and Saturday is raucus but much fun will be had by all!
Thank you all for your help with the demo and for coming out to enjoy a
beautiful relaxed event,
Lady Faye de Trees,

demo hours so please arrive early to be set up before 11am either day.
Mundane Food Vendors will be present during the museum’s event and we will host
a potluck feast on Saturday evening followed by Bardic around the fire.

Steppingstone Museum is a nonprofit educational facility in Harford County and
they are hosting their Medieval Days event on May 14th and 15th.
We are running a demo for this event to add to the educational history component
and share our talents and information about the Middle Ages with the public. We
will have a large area to work with included tenting space, pavilions, and
fields. Please join us to share your talents with the public!

You can set up Friday night or Saturday morning and camp over both nights at
Steppingstone with a period encampment or modern tents (if they are removed from
the period encampment before the demo starts or are left set up in the modern
area). Please join us for a lovely camping evening Friday or come on Saturday
morning. This is a beautiful site and they are trying to preserve many of the
traditional handicrafts that derived directly from those that we practice in the
SCA.

We are set up as an official demo to accommodate authorizations and fighting
again this year, we will also be selecting Bright Hills Baronial Champions for
Equestrian and Heavy Weapons on Saturday. Bring your best kit to impress our
new Baron and Baroness as you fight in the tourney for heavy weapons and ride to
glory as Bright Hills Champion. Please note that to participate in Equestrian
you must contact Lady Nem, our equestrian marshal and current baronial champion
at least a week before the event.

Arts and Sciences Demonstrations and Displays are most welcome- the public loves
seeing what we do and we all like to share our great work on ongoing projects
and learn something new!
