Project Linus is a non-profit organization that provides handmade blankets
to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need to
hospitals, shelters, and hospices. The organization is named after the
Peanuts cartoon character, Linus, who always had his security blanket with
him. The blankets provide these children with a sense of warmth, love,
comfort, and security. To date, just 371 chapters nationwide have provided
more than 3.7 million blankets to children in need. An article from *Parade
Magazine* cites a 3 year old girl who relies on her "blankie" to help her
endure her leukemia treatments, and all that that entails. More can be
learned from the website http://www.projectlinus.org.
Feast of the Saints will offer a few ways you can help:
1) There will be a silent auction to benefit Project Linus. We will have
"lots" of items for auction, including fabric, feast gear sets, jewelry, and
more!
2) We're accepting donations of kid-friendly fabric to assemble blankets
on-site at the event. Do you have just 10 minutes from your whole entire
weekend to decorate a square of fleece or tie some knots?
3) We'll also be collecting donations of handmade blankets of all sizes.
