[MR] BBC: Kate Middleton's Heraldic Arms

My question has to do with the emblazon. At least in SCA usage, is the use of chevronels on either side of the chevron correct or should it have been emblazoned a chevron or cotised argent? Which is correct, since they describe the same thing?
