I haven't been in over a decade, so I don't know if things have changed
since.
But 'back then', you just dropped your tent wherever you wanted. As
long as it wasn't on the battlefield, and wasn't in merchants row (which
was next to the barn)
It was common for some people to go camp in their 'traditional pennsic
spots', just because. And others would enjoy camping close to the
activities/barn.
