Greetings good gentles of the Kingdom of Atlantia,

*Please feel free to forward this missive to other lists to spread the word
of your worthy poets.*

I have news and details about the poets and writers who came out to my
competition, Poetry of the Phoenix, at the Sacred Stone Anniversary &
Investiture!
Eight of your most talented presented their works to the evaluated by the
judges, Master Bran Trefonnen of Sacred Stone, Lord Tom Drumbuilder of
Hawkwood, and myself, Etienne Le Mons d'Anjou, your Poeta Atlantiae.

*Entrants:*
Mistress Azza al-Shirazi presented "The Phoenix" which could be sung to the
tune of Stairway to Heaven,
Mistress Dervila ni Leanon showed us her work on the "Wolves of Asgard",
Lady Prudence the Curious demonstrated her skill in the ancient technique of
renga,
Sir Axel of Tavastia submitted a fabulous poem entitled, "The Firebird",
Lady Thamira bat Sophar composed a poem on the spot,
Lady Scribonia Sabina Mus astounded with a poem entirely in Latin,
Baroness Maaline Renard made us marvel at her mastery of the Old French
language with "Le Fenix", and
Mistress Rosalind Jehanne left her entry at her domicile, but remembered it
in its entirety and rewrote "A Sonnet of the Phoenix" for us to enjoy.

The competition was tough and the decision of the judges took all we could
muster. In the end, while each entrant made us proud to call ourself
Atlantian, we could choose only one.

Mistress Dervila ni Leanon proved that she is not just the Royal Bard but a
very talented poet as well! She won the prize, a journal which depicted the
Lindau Gospels on the front and back cover!
*Vivat to Mistress Dervila and her noble poem!*

Soon you will be able to read her winning poem on the Poeta
Atlantiae<http://poeta.atlantia.sca.org/>website.
Keep a look out for other upcoming poetry competitions!
