Greetings to the People of Atlantia from King Bryan and Queen Brianna!
Tomorrow dawns a new day and a new era for Atlantia. Although it doesn't
seem possible that so much time has passed, it has and Our time on the
thrones has come to an end. We wanted to take this opportunity to write to
you one last time before that day dawns.
Thank you, Atlantia. Thank you for all you have done. Thank you for all
the work, the scrolls, the medallions and cords, the gifts, the donations to
gift baskets, the feasts, the lunches, the teas, the award recommendations,
the extra effort put forth on Our behalf at events, the donations to the
travel fund and all the numerous other things that Our overloaded minds
cannot remember at this time. Thank you for the intangible things as well -
the counsel, the well wishes, the love and support, the endless hours taken
out of your busy lives that you gave Us so that Our reign was a little
easier.
We have received a lot of positive feedback on Our reign, so We want to make
sure that you know to whom the credit should fall. It certainly can't all
fall on us. First, you should know that your baronage played a vital role.
We looked to them to help us reward you. When We received an award
recommendation, We talked to the local baronage to help us flesh out the
recommendation if needed and to find out when the person would be at an
event to receive the award. Baron Talorgen also played a very important
role in Our reign. He tackled anything and everything computer related. I
cannot tell you how much stress that kept off Us and how much better that
made communications to the orders and the populace. Baroness Gisela kept me
sane (mostly) by doing most of the handling of the retainers and event staff
while Lady Kilmeny wrangled the schedule for retainers. Last, but certainly
not least, are the retainers themselves. We had a great group of core
retainers that really did a lot of work and traveled a great deal to help
us. We also got a tremendous response from the local groups everywhere we
visited to help fill in. We greatly appreciate them all!
In closing, We traveled Atlantia from one end of the Kingdom and back -
several times over - and enjoyed every minute of it. We made new
friendships and deepened some old ones. Thanks to you, We have great
memories and hope that We have given you some as well.
Vivat Atlantia!
