Good Gentles of our fair Kingdom of Atlantia,

Though our Southern cousins may have left winter behind them long since,
those of us in the most northern reaches of the Kingdom have only just
spotted the first Daffodils of spring! It has been a long cold winter, but
finally our hope is renewed with the changing seasons. It is time to leave
the comforts of our fires, and for our warriors and artisans to bring glory
to Atlantia again!

The Barony of Highland Foorde had turned it’s attentions towards our annual
Highland Rivers Melees, and it is our desire to see our many friends and
comrades join us for a day of challenge and merriment! Though we find
ourselves in the midst of the 100-years War, our attention is not on foreign
French adversaries, but on our own people within our city walls. The
Peasants are Revolting!! While our fighters take up weapons to defend their
cause and/or protect our King, We artisans may find our own way to aid in
the battles!

This year, the forces will be divided into two fighting factions. Entrants
may choose to compete for the Peasants or for the Aristocracy!

*Peasants Team A&S:*

1. 1. Any SCA-Legal Peasants’ Weapon.**

2. 2. The best use of St. George’s Cross in any medium.

Led by Wat Tyler, the peasants took up the Cross of Saint George as their
banner. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_England.svg.

3. 3. Peasant Protest Sign Competition.

As they made their way through London, the peasants used the rallying cry,
“When Adam Delved and Eve Span, Who was the Gentleman?” Can you make a
picket-line poster/sign to show your disgust with the Feudal system?

*Aristocracy Team A&S:*

1. 1. The best use or display of the White Heart Badge in any
medium.

King Richard II was well noted for his use of the White Hart as his badge.

2. 2, Tribute to Chaucer in any medium (Poetry welcomed!!).

As any true aristocrat, you are oblivious to the problems surrounding the
lower classes. You are much more amused with poetry and the like. Geoffrey
Chaucer is believed to have started writing the Canterbury Tales in 1380,
while working as Comptroller of London.

(Documentation is not required; however, preference will be given to entries
providing documentation.)

Further details will be provided for Bards and Brewers. Lady Swannoc Beag
will head up our Bardic activities and competition for the event, while our
own Baron Siegfried Sebastian Faust will organize our Brewing Activities and
Competitions.
