The show was originally called "Robin of Sherwood" but was marketed later
as "Robin Hood."
Jason Connery was the second Robin on the series, with Michael Praed being
the first. They got to use both variations of the legend in that way (i.e.
peasant born hero and noble born hero).
Clannad did a lot of the music for the show.
I got to see Mark Ryan, who played Nasir, at a scifi con in the 90s, just
after Kevin Costner's film version came out. Nasir was the first
Saracen-type character to appear in a Robin Hood themed movie or show. Now it is a
common element. When Costner was producing his film Ryan told us that the
UK production company went after Costner for copyright violations since
they owned "Nasir" since they created him. Costner changed enough elements to
not be in violation. Ryan said it was interesting to see a character he
created be interpreted on screen.
Not all of the tv show was available in the US on video cassette, but I
believe you can get the whole thing on DvD.
Yes, I was a fan of this show as well. :)

Does any one know the name of the BBC Robin Hood that had Sean Conreys
son. I think that it was done in the 70's. I liked that the best of the
Robin series.
