[MR] Combat Archery Question

Count Sinclair ... if you are still in need of prods, I do have a supply
of combat poundage crossbow prods I might be tempted to part with some of.

These are made of Power-Tuff, a fiberglass specifically formulated for
bow/crossbow prod use ...

Though if you choose to use these, I would recommend NOT using pine
2x4's for the stock, as the power of a properly-sized crossbow prod for
combat archery will tend to wear heavily on the lock in a pine-crossbow.

It's one reason why all those original 2x4 crossbows were underpowered
to begin with.

If you'd like more information, please feel free to contact me privately.

In Service,
Siegfried

We are making the simple 2x4 stock crossbows to start with and I know that the prod on my current one is made of fiberglass. I was told it was Sail Batton for sailboats and I have found some fiberglass of the same general dimensions looking online. My issue is that the thickness is about half of the orange fiberglass battons that my crossbow is made of and thus these prods are REALLY underpowered. Does anyone know of a good source of this thicker fiberglass prod material or know of someone who might know? The new legal crossbow ammo is quite a bit heavier than the old ammo so we need the stronger prods to be able to fire at all.
