To the Kingdom of Atlantia does the Autocrat of the Tournament of the
Golden Rose, Baron Christopher MacConing send greetings,
I hope you all are doing well and enjoyed your holiday weekend,
especially if you were able to attend the Golden Rose. We were truly
blessed with great weather, a great time, and great friends.
I am happy to say that Golden Rose was a success filled with
pageantry, competition, friendship and fun! I hope you feel the same
way, and if so I encourage you all to attend the next year's
Tournament of the Golden Rose! For those of you unable to attend, I
hope you can make it to the next one!
This event could not have become a reality without the hard work of
several individuals and their teams and I wish to thank those fine
Gentles and their teams who devoted their time, energy, and sanity to
ensure that Golden Rose went off as well as it did:
Deputy Autocrat Dame Adriana la Bretonne, who gave me great advice on
running my first event and was there to spot what I was overlooking.
High Troll/Reservationist Baroness Celia of Rosedale who with her
great team, had everything covered perfectly.
Field Coordinator Lord Gaelan mac Cuinnegáin, a man on a mission with
a measuring tape. You had everything planned down to the half inch.
Site Decorator Mistress Francesca la Curiosa, whose talent for
decorating cannot be stopped, not even by duct tape not sticking to
the walls.
Royal Liaison Baroness Guenievre de Monmarche, who ensured that the
Crowns should want for not.
Head Chef Lady Hrosvitha von Celle and her crew who did an incredible
job with such a limited budget. The food was fabulous.
Tournament Coordinator Duke Michael of Bedford who came up with a
great tourney plan, and adjusted it on the fly to make sure everybody
got to fight as much as they could. Looks like everybody had a blast!
MIC Lord Kynnyth Pyke, Rapier MIC Master Llwyd Aldridge, and Heavy MIC
Master Callixtus Gill, who did a fabulous job marshaling such an
involved tournament.
Baroness Ella de Lille and her team of Super-MoL's, who were presented
with a daunting task and conquered it with ease. FIGHTERS: QUIT
STANDING IN FRONT OF THE MOL TABLE!!!!! :)
Our Chiurgeon Lord Andreas de Caunteton and our Chief Water Bearer
Mistress Morwenna Trevethan, who made sure we were healthy and
hydrated.
Lady Elizabet de Roslyne, who worked so hard to make sure that the
newcomer's were taken care of.
Lady Ysane de laSelle, who in addition to putting up with me did all
of the drawing work for the new shields, and then let me paint them
when I needed something to do.
Thanks also go to Steafan, Eogan, Dominico, Bambi, and all the others
who helped out with preparation, setup, takedown, and all the things
needed to pull off the event.
Special thanks go to the household of Master Callixtus Gill and Dame
Adriana la Bretonne, who allowed me to raid their supplies of
equipment and decoration, and helped me time and again to prepare for
this event
Finally, thank you to Duchess Simone and the Order of the Rose for
entrusting me with this event. I hope you all were pleased with the
outcome and had a wonderful time.
Thank you once again, and I hope to see you at the Next Tournament of
the Golden Rose!
Yours in Service,
Baron Christopher MacConing
