when I joined the SCA...

i avoided shiny hats and white belts like the plague, they scared me...
I wore a polyester tabard with sweatpants...
The Rialto was our communications network...
Everyone was making plans for next year's AS XXV celebrations...

Now...

I've lived in 4 kingdoms and under nearly 30 monarchs.
I've entered A&S competitions doing everything from arrow making to zymugy.
I used nearly ever type of weapon that is legal in the SCA
I've been nearly every officer it is possible to be.
I've worn nearly every type of garb there is, from early period to high renaissance.
I have never received any kind of award.
I still haven't done it all.
I'm still having so much fun, I never want to stop.
