Greetings one and all,

Bright Hills is hoping you will join us for our annual T & T event and
to that end I thought you'd like to know what sort of A & S goodies await!

We will be holding our Baronial Champions competitions and thus we're
looking for a new Bar, Brewer, A & S champion and folks who like to dance!
The theme of the event is based on Duke Phillip the Good, who was known to
enjoy sports, parties and was an incurable clotheshorse - or so the Autocrat
tells me.  To that end we offer the following;

Bardic competition;

Here's the format for the Bardic Contest. The Bright Hills
Baronial Bard will be chosen from this contest.

The contest will be held at 1pm.

Contestants should have three performance pieces,(i.e .songs, tales, poems,
jokes,
skits). All performance pieces should be SCA and/or our medieval period
related.

The scoring will be a point system:
3 performance pieces 1 pt. each (3 total)
3 Different forms of performance pieces (ie a song,a poem, & a tale)
1 pt each (3 total)
3 period pieces 2 pts. each (6 total)
3 period pieces with documentation 3 pts per piece (9 total)
Judges Discretion(originality, creativity, authenticity) 1-4 pts.

So there are a total of 25 points available, challenge yourself and WOW me.
If
there are any questions feel free to contact me at hickman_sl at yahoo.com.

Next - a Scroll competition. Sponsored by our own Master Tristan the scroll
blanks can be for any award, any medium but Scroll blanks with a Burgundian
theme will get extra attention.

A Mask making competition - well - two, actually. One for adults and one
for the younger set. Mask blanks and decorating supplies will be provided,
you supply the inspiration. Could get messy!

A Burgundian costume competition - wear your entry! We'll supply a tag so
the judges can spot you! Winners will lead the Dance after feast.

There will be a table for Displaying your latest works should you feel so
inclined. This is a non-theme specific display. all works are welcome.

Baronial Brewers competition! Fall approaches and the Barony of the Bright
Hills is celebrating with the Treaty of Troys on October 30. We ask all to
enjoy the food, music and merrymaking. Most of all, I am asking brewers to
join in the celebration and bring your brews! Bright Hills is choosing its
Brewing Champion and is also offering prizes for the best beer and ale,
wines and meads, cordials, and non-alcoholic drinks. Don't let the prizes go
home with me when you might share in the loot!

Lady Deirdre O'Bardon
Bright Hills Brewing Champion

A two part class - Beginners level - on making Lamp Work Glass Beads.
Milady Bellavene Scolari and Baroness Swieczka Kaim will lead through the
first steps, familiarizing folks with equipment, it's use and care and then
sit down and make your own beads. Class should begin at 2 PM.
I've heard rumors of a Children's feast as well.... Stay tuned for more
details!
