At the Coronation of Bryan & Brianna I, there were three, separate poetry
competitions. While the overall winner will have their poem published in
the November Acorn, I'd like to share some of the other entries here with
you over the next few weeks.
Poetry is a thriving art in Atlantia and it was wonderful to see so many
great poems entered. I'd like to start out this week with an entry from the
Parfit Quene's Tale. This poem was written by Lady Livia Zanna.
Atlantia, Fair land by the sea,
has a garden full inflower,
Glorious roses of graceful beauty
inspire courtesy within their bower.
Even the heart grown hard and sour
Finds itself treading soft and slow
For while the Roses wield gentle power
their thorns will slay Atlantia's foes.
Yet even among our treasured rows
stands one shining above the rest,
To her all others bend stems low
A Queen of Atlantia, truly blest.
Gentle Brianna, noble soul!
With heart more pure than crown of gold.
