This was so heartening to read! It all started with the little country grange halls.....some people drove hours thru those blizzards in order to greet our troops. The first plane returning from the Gulf was met with pizza, 2 kegs of beer (which they weren't allowed to drink) and a small high school band. One of the returnees was so moved by this that he asked for one of the kids saxophone and played God Bless America on it.....he was then invited and accepted to be grand marshal of our 4th of July parade.
