Yes. My father was spit on. And I was there to see it.  They also threw 
something at him, but I don't remember what.
Be advised that there is a movement now to whitewash those incidents, to pretend 
they didn't happen.

Regardless, I want to thank my fellow vets for their service and, as another 
pointed out, thank the families of these warriors for all the sacrifices they 
endure 24/7
