If you have not already heard, I am having a HUGE SCA YARD SALE this
SUNDAY, May 23, beginning at 1pm. (No early-birds, please.) No, I am
not quitting the SCA. In anticipation of moving overseas, I have
decided to sell off much of my SCA stuff rather than pay to store it.
The sale will be held on the deck, screened porch, and den, so it will
go on rain or shine. Come around through the back yard.

Items in this FABULOUS SALE include (but are not limited to):
-- Oriental carpets – room/pavilion/dance size – big ones
-- Sewing machines (including an old Kenmore with decorative cams,
button holer,and monogramming cams...this is a work horse of a
machine...needs a carrying case or a cabinet. $100
-- Viking Huskylock 1002LCD serger, accommodates up to 5 spools, does
5/4/3/2 thread edge, cover stitch, chain stitch, rolled hem – provided
you can get that husky Viking to stand still . Includes instructional
video. $400
-- Pottery from my extensive collection, including works by myself and
others, many of which are suitable for early period personas
-- Easy-up (modern pop-up day shade) $50
-- Fabric, fabric fabric (and maybe some trim)
-- Unfinished fiber objects (UFOs)
-- Yarn (unstarted fiber objects), knitting needles
-- Giant floor inkle loom, weaves 15+ feet of trim

-- Items used to decorate the halls at Camp Rutledge and AH Stephens
including rafter hooks for hanging banners, curtains (with rods), and
rope lighting (to string from the rafters to give a soft ambient

-- Heavy (really heavy) coin belt for Middle Eastern dance ($150)
-- My big, honking gas grill...3 burners with a side burner, was $300
new, 5 years old, $75. Includes refillable propane tank.
-- Camping equipment, including a 2 room cabin tent that sleeps 4-6,
camp stove and lantern (both propane), coolers, misc camping supplies.
-- Candlesticks (a couple are middle eastern in style) – simple to
elaborate, $1-$50
-- Feast gear and baskets, tablecloths and cloth napkins
-- Illumination supplies including paints, brushes, portfolio, and
portable work board
-- Tools including drill press, bench saw, skill saws, drills, hand
tools, sanders, work benches, etc.
-- An unusual bistro set that has the arms of the SCA on the backs of
the chairs. In excellent condition, table is glass topped, 2 chairs
with woven seats, backs are metal with a laurel wreath cut out of the
shield-shaped back.
-- Almost a whole hide of leather...brown, upholstery quality Also a
smaller (but still substantial) piece of heavy off-white leather.
-- Beads! Wonderful beads, some of which are very Middle Eastern in style
-- Craft supplies
-- Silk painting supplies
-- Playmobile tournament set
-- Nice looking decorative swords, very inexpensive
-- 5 gallon glass carboys (several) suitable for brewing
-- Fire pit with spark screen
-- Wooden boxes, including a box bench, and some wooden stools
-- Bed (knocks down) for medieval camping, and two modern folding cots
with mattresses
-- A 4-ft diameter tourney table (packs flat)
-- Random modern stuff of interest to SCA members, such as fantasy and
science fiction paperbacks, stereo system (receiver, CD changer, dual
cassette deck, speakers – works great)
-- A nice big refrigerator, suitable for storing beer, ale, wine and
mead (which is what it’s doing right now)
This is a major sell-off of some extremely nice SCA-useful items. Feel

of specific items. I may offer other random bits and bobs of a more
mundane nature. If you are looking for something in particular, feel
free to ask if I have it and willing to sell it.

>From Atlanta: Take GA 316 to Athens, passing over the Athens
bypass/Loop 10 and continuing until you get to Timothy Rd. Turn RIGHT
onto Timothy Rd. Proceed for approximately 0.8 miles and turn LEFT
onto Saint George Drive. 210 is the second house on the RIGHT after
you pass Saint George Court.
>From Gainesville, Commerce, and points north and North East (i.e.
South Carolina): Take your best route to Athens, getting on the
bypass/Loop 10 OUTER heading west. Take the Epps Bridge Rd/GA 316 Exit
and turn LEFT toward Athens and continuing until you get to Timothy
Rd. Turn RIGHT onto Timothy Rd. Proceed for approximately 0.8 miles
and turn LEFT onto Saint George Drive. 210 is the second house on the
RIGHT after you pass Saint George Court.
>From points south (i.e. Macon): Take your best route to Athens, which
will put you on US 441. Take US 441 but instead of following it onto
the Athens Perimeter/Loop 10, continue straight. It will become
Timothy Rd. Continue approximately 1.7 miles from the Perimeter. Turn
right onto Saint George. 210 is the second house on the RIGHT after
you pass Saint George Court.
If you are coming from Augusta, take US 78 to Athens, get on the
Athens Perimeter/Loop 10 INNER (you will pass under the perimeter
before you come to the on ramp which will be a left hand turn). Take
Loop 10/Athens Perimeter to the Timothy Rd. exit and bear right, and
continue approximately 1.7 miles from the Perimeter. Turn Right onto
Saint George. 210 is the second house on the RIGHT after you pass
Saint George Court.
Sale starts at 1 pm. Please bring CASH (ATMs are located on Epps
Bridge Rd.). I will have light refreshments and will be firing up the
grill later in the afternoon/early evening (6:30ish)for burgers and
hotdogs. If you want to join us for dinner, consider bringing a dish
to share.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to take advantage of the
major sell-off of fine SCA-related goods. I hope to see you on Sunday,
